“Mi a warrior, mi a lion, mi a king.”
Roots Reggae | Spiritual Resistance Anthem. A chant down Babylon, forward with Ites. Recorded between Ghana and the world.

Accra / Global — Dee Jay KoFAI releases the Director's Cut of “Na Give Up,” a roots reggae anthem chanting down Babylon and moving the riddim forward with Ites. Cut between Ghana and the world, the record is built on a classic one-drop foundation, deep meditative bass, and a virtuosic trombone/sax conversation that breaks into an electric guitar and flute outro — Ites@! I-ree Ites. It's not nostalgia. It's resistance tuned to now.
Lyrically, KoFAI travels from a stark witness — seeing pure backwardness, Babylon reigning, children suffering in the street — to an active, spiritual resolve: planting good seed, guarding soul victory, and calling lion-warrior spirit forward. “Mi voice strong even when mi weak” is not bravado but testimony; Jah love covering the gaps where system fails. The chant is militant and tender at once, a conscious man choosing cultivation over collapse.
The visual package extends the testimony through five artworks: a seed resting in a wooden crate for hope against concrete; Babylon ruins with broken chains marking liberation; a child's crayon castle illustrating innocence versus system; and a triptych of sprout / lantern / sunburst tracing resilience into new day. The Director's Cut brings these to life in a 7-scene dynamic video, graded in 70s film warmth — grain, sun flare, and dust — as if rescued from a militant roots archive and broadcast for tomorrow.
“Babylon a go fall, dem cyah hold di control.”
“Mi nah give up, mi a plant a good seed.”
“Jah light a shine, a new day a come.”

Final stitched video: seed, ruins, crayon castle, sprout, lantern, sunburst, and warrior close-up. Graded with 70s roots warmth, film dust and sun flare. One-drop drives, trombone answers. Built for press screening and full-screen embed.

Ites@! I-ree Ites...
Mi a warrior, mi a lion, mi a king,
Jah light cover mi, hear di song mi sing.
Mi see pure backwardness inna di street,
Babylon reigning with dem concrete feet,
Children suffering, hunger inna dem sleep,
System build castle but foundation weak.
Dem tell mi say give up, say mi dreams too tall,
But Jah plant a seed inna mi heart, mi hear di call.
Mi voice strong even when mi weak,
Mi nah bow down, mi stand pon mi feet.
Mi nah give up, mi a plant a good seed,
Water it wid love, watch di future breed,
Babylon a go fall, dem cyah hold di control,
Victory inna mi soul, victory inna mi soul.
Broken chains a rattle inna di ruins dem,
Lion flag a wave, no more fear again,
Crayon castle draw by little child hand,
Show di innocence weh dem try fi overstand.
From sprout to lantern, from dark to light,
Jah guide mi steps through di longest night,
Mi a warrior, mi a lion, mi a king,
Tribulation come but mi still a sing.
When di road get rough and di mountain steep,
When dem thief di harvest weh mi sow deep,
Mi remember di promise, mi hold di faith,
Jah love a cover mi, inna perfect grace.
Mi nah give up, mi a plant a good seed,
Babylon a go fall, dem cyah hold di control,
Mi a warrior, mi a lion, mi a king,
Jah light a shine, a new day a come!
Jah light a shine, a new day a come,
Jah light a shine, a new day a come,
Ites@! I-ree Ites — forward ever,
Dee Jay KoFAI move di riddim forward...
Na give up, na give up, na give up.
